Italy's women won Olympic team silver in Paris, their best team result since 1928. They followed it with European team titles in 2024 and 2025, and team silver behind Russia at the 2026 Europeans in Zagreb. In Rotterdam they are one of the teams most likely to finish on the podium.

Squad

  • Manila Esposito – European all-around champion 2024 and 2025
  • Elisa Iorio
  • Giulia Perotti
  • July Marano
  • Sofia Tonelli
  • Anthea Sisio – reserve

Alice D'Amato, the Olympic beam champion from Paris, is not in this squad.

Strengths

Manila Esposito is the team's leader. She has won the European all-around title twice and Olympic beam bronze. Elisa Iorio adds experience from earlier Italian teams. Italy's strength is balance across the four apparatus, without the big weaknesses that can sink a team final.

Qualification

Italy compete in the third subdivision on Sunday 18 October, at 19:40, after the United States and Japan have already competed.

LA28 stakes

A top-three finish among eligible nations in the team final on 21 October would book Italy's team place at the 2028 Olympics. See our LA28 qualification guide.
