Independent gymnastics journal

Gymnastics stories, guides and history

An independent journal for people who love gymnastics: practical guides, explainers on every discipline and an archive of the European championships that shaped the sport.

A gymnastics journal on a familiar address

For years, ueg.org was where European gymnastics published its calendar, entries and results. Today it is an independent journal. We write for the people who make the sport what it is: gymnasts at every level, parents driving to Saturday training, coaches, judges and fans who stay up for a beam final.

Our focus is simple. We explain how gymnastics works, from how scores are calculated to what makes a good club, and we keep a record of the championships that shaped the sport in Europe.

Why keep an archive?

Many websites still link to the old event pages on this address. Instead of letting those links break, we turned each one into an archive entry: what the event was, how the competition worked, what stood out and why it still matters. You can browse them by year in the event archive or by discipline on the disciplines page.

Frequently asked questions

Is ueg.org the official website of European Gymnastics?

No. ueg.org is an independent journal. European Gymnastics, formerly the Union Européenne de Gymnastique, now publishes its official information on its own website.

Where can I find official results for past championships?

Official results are kept by European Gymnastics and the FIG. Our archive pages explain the context of each event and mention well-documented results, but they do not replace official records.

How many gymnastics disciplines are there?

There are eight: women's artistic, men's artistic, rhythmic, trampoline, acrobatic, aerobic, TeamGym and Gymnastics for All. Each has its own page in our disciplines section.

Can adults start gymnastics?

Yes. Many clubs run classes for adult beginners, and progress is steady with good coaching and patience. Our guide to starting gymnastics as an adult explains how to begin safely.

How often is new content published?

We add new guides and stories regularly. The latest ones appear at the top of the stories page.
