Yana Kudryavtseva adds 3 more golds to her already impressive collection

September 11, 2015

The Russian ladies claim the team title while leading lady Yana Kudryavtseva clinches the World titles with both ribbon and clubs

Russia did what it was expected to do: dominate the team competition. Kudryavtseva (no hoop) and Soldatova (no ball) both did three exercises while Mamun did all 4. The top 2 scores per event counted towards the combined team score. Russia ended with a massive 149.990 easily beating Belarus (Katsiaryna Halkina, Melitina Staniouta Hanna Bazhko and Arina Charopa) and Ukraine (Ganna Rizatdinova, Eleonora Romanova and Viktoriia Mazur) who had an extremely close battle for silver and bronze. Belarus won this in the end scoring 141.314 in comparison to 141.196 of Ukraine.

In the clubs final Kudryavtseva was in a league of her own. She performed a fabulous routine to score 19.066, winning her third consecutive world title, and scoring almost half a point more than teammate Soldatova (18.566) who narrowly beat Ukraine’s Ganna Rizatdinova.

In the ribbon final Kudryavtseva was last up and -although she didn’t do a perfect exercise- it was just enough to surpass 2014 World ribbon Champion Margarita Mamun, 18.866 to 18.850. Rizatdinova was third again, picking up her third bronze medal of the evening.
