Dear Gymnastic friends

So far 2017 has been a busy year for our Technical Committee, a year full of preparations. This autumn we will host two educational events, the Educational Choreo Camp, in Anadia (POR), and the Seminar “Gymnastics for Fun”, in Loughborough (GBR). For the third year running, we partner with the European Commission for the European Week of Sport. And we want you all to participate! Read all about our photo / video challenge below…

In May we met with the representatives of 15 federations in Liege (BEL) for the info meeting of next year’s EUROGYM and the first edition of the European Gym for Life Challenge. The Belgians Organisers showed us the main sights, venues and unveiled their plans. Interesting conversations were held with Russia, Serbia and Belarus to see how UEG can help develop Gymnastics for All in their country. The info meeting for Golden Age in Pesaro (ITA) is coming up in just a few weeks!

The European Week of Sport aims to promote sport and physical activity across Europe. The Week is for everyone, regardless of age, background or fitness level. With a focus on grassroots initiatives, it inspires European citizens to #BeActive on a regular basis and create opportunities in peoples’ everyday lives to exercise more.

After two successful collaborations with the European Commission, the UEG is an official partner of the European Week of Sport again. This year’s edition will take place from 23 to 30 September 2017, all over Europe!

And we need YOU to participate! We organise a photo / video challenge! Do a balance pose, take a photo or video and post it on Facebook or Twitter, using the hashtags #gymbalance, #BeActive and mentioning UEG. Win one of our great prizes!

On July 14 2018, the first ever European Gym for Life Challenge will take place in Liege (BEL) on the eve of EUROGYM. We thank the Belgian organisers for committing to these two wonderful events. Several delegation members gathered in Liege in May for the info meeting, visiting the venues and accommodation options and getting the latest information regarding the schedule and cultural activities.

Preliminary registration will open in November … Make sure you are ready!!!

The Local Organising Committee of the 2018 Golden Age Gym Festival is keen to host all interested federations in Pesaro on 7 and 8 October for the info meeting, and we are thrilled to see what they have to offer!

The participants will be taken on a tour of the city to see where the accommodation, stages and venues will be located and to get a feel for the town and how to get around.

Pesaro is a pleasant seaside town of around 95.000 inhabitants, known for its atmosphere and culture, as it’s the birthplace of composer Rossini! An ideal place for Golden Age!

With EUROGYM and the Golden Age Gym Festival approaching rapidly, the Gymnastics for All TC is looking for to 53 participants from 5 National Federations (POR, FIN, ISL, SWE and FRA) in Anadia (POR) in just a few days for the next edition of the Educational Choreo Camp.

This Camp aims to provide knowledge and support for the National Federations in preparing, coaching, evaluating and selecting groups for the Gym for Life Challenge, EUROGYM, Golden Age Gym Festival or other similar events, by focusing on the creative process, composition, evaluation, feedback and coaching.

We hope all participants will enjoy this opportunity to engage with experts and other countries. And we look for to see the results next year!

At the end of October, UEG organises the second edition of the Gymnastics for Fun seminar, this time in Loughborough (GBR).

This Seminar is an exciting opportunity to increase your knowledge and ideas of how to create and develop an attractive Gymnastics for All programme. It will include a variety of lectures, practical sessions, discussions and group studies to share your own experiences and good practice and also learn from others.

Join us at one of our seminars this year, and at our events in 2018!

Sincerely yours,

Alberto Claudino
