New UEG Authorities keen to get to work

January 17, 2018

At the first Executive Committee meeting of the new governing cycle

At the 27th Congress in December 2017 in Split (CRO), the UEG’s 50 member Federations elected the new authorities who will govern the continental union for the next 4 years.

From Thursday till Saturday, Farid Gayibov (AZE), who became the fifth president of the UEG, will lead his first President’s Board and Executive Committee meetings assisted by General Director Lisa Worthmann (GER).

A busy agenda rules these meetings where the events of the coming years will be discussed. The EC members will be assigned as Jury of Appeal for the 2018 events. For the TeamGym Technical Committee 4 candidates are vying for the last available post while the medical commission needs to be approved. Finances are one of the main topics, with both the results of 2017 and the approval of the 2018 budget high on the to-do list. No doubt many other topics will be raised as well as the authorities get settled in their new roles.

The UEG warmly welcomes the new authorities to its Lausanne headquarters!
