Hydro set for spectacular Artistic Gymnastics Europeans

April 27, 2018

Coordination meeting held between LOC and UEG

On the 100 days to go mark, representatives of the European Union of Gymnastics (UEG) travelled to Glasgow (GBR) to meet with the local organisers and partner Eurovision and discuss the preparation of the upcoming European Championships. Led by the Glasgow 2018 Gymnastics Competition Manager Stephanie Stewart, WTC President Anca Grigoras, MTC President Tom Thingvold and UEG staff visited the Hydro to check on the offices, field of play, training and warm-up hall and broadcast-media areas, and the flow between all of this. The party also met with representatives of various functional areas within Glasgow 2018, mainly concerning accommodation, accreditation, sports presentation and technology. Scoring partner ATOS provided an update on their work and EBU lifted the veil by showing the first broadcast intentions.

2018 marks a special occasion for European Gymnastics as its Artistic Gymnastics European Championships will be part of the first multi-sports European Championships, featuring 7 sports in 2 cities. Gymnastics will be held in the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, site of the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2015 World Championships.

Glasgow 2018 promises to be a unique spectacle!
