European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in 2014 in Sofia/BUL : signature of the contract

The 30th European Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships and the 31st European Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships have been attributed to the Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation. Both events will take place in May 2014 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The contract has been signed on Tuesday, October 1st in the framework of the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp in the presence of the European Union of Gymnastics’ (UEG) President Georges Guelzec, the UEG Director Kirsi Erofejeff Engman, the current president of the Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation (former Secretary General and national coach) as well as Olympic medallist on high bar at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996, Krasimir Dounev and last but not least, the former Champion, Iordan Iovchev, who recently retired from gymnastics. On the occasion of this contract signature, a brief meeting was held with these key persons in order to discuss the progress of the preparations of this event.
Please note that the official supplier will be Janssen Fritsen who will equip the facilities with the same apparatus as those provided in Antwerp. 
 
After the 2011 European Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships in Varna, the UEG is delighted to return to Bulgaria for its Artistic European Championships in 2014.
Georges Guelzec wished the federation all the best for the coming months of preparations.
