Nominative entries for the Glasgow 2018 are out!

In less than one month, all eyes will be on Glasgow and Berlin as these two iconic cities host the first ever joint European Championships, featuring 7 sports. Artistic gymnastics will be held in the SSE Hydro, site of the 2015 Worlds. First up are the women, from 2 to 5 August, followed by the men from 9 to 12 August.

Curious to see who is competing? The Federations had until yesterday to register their teams. Keep in mind though, that changes are still possible up until 24 hours before the start of qualifications.

Women

139 gymnasts from 35 countries will compete in the senior competition. After an absence at last year’s Europeans, 2015 all-around and 2016 vault and floor European Champion Giulia Steingruber (SUI) returns to fight for continental glory. She’ll be joined by defending champions Coline Devillard (FRA – vault), Nina Derwael (BEL – bars) and Angelina Melnikova (RUS – floor) plus 2016 beam Olympic Champion Sanne Wevers (NED) and the reigning beam World Champion Pauline Schaefer (GER). For the host nation the experienced Becky Downie will compete alongside Alice Kinsella, Georgia-Mae Fenton, Lucy Stanhope and Kelly Simm. All-around European Champion Ellie Downie is recovering from injury. On the roster after a long absence is 2012 vice-Olympic Champion Viktoria Komova (RUS).

In the junior competition we’ll see 136 gymnasts from 36 countries.  An extremely talented field that includes 2017 EYOF Champion Ksenia Klimenko, Italians Asia and Alice D’Amato, Giorgia Villa and Elisa Iorio, YOG qualifying winner Anastasia Bachynska (UKR) and Great Britain’s Amelie Morgan are guarantee to bring excitement to Glasgow!
